About this Site
This website comprises the selected ramblings of Cr Pete Harrison. It was established to support Pete's nomination for a seat on Palerang Council during the by-election held on Saturday 14 May 2011 and served to keep Palerang residents and ratepayers informed of local Council issues until that Council was dissolved on 12 May 2016.
On this date, the former Palerang Council was merged with the Queanbeyan City Council to form the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council. The site was 'reactivated' following Pete's election to the newly formed Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council in the 9 September 2017 election.
Some of the content of this site is material that was produced during the lead-up to the 2011 Palerang by-election and 2012 general local government elections. Other content, such as the The Palerang Blog (now renamed the QPRC Blog), and items in the [Palerang] Info Zone, were designed to keep residents abreast of issues of interest within the Palerang and subsequently Queanbeyan Palerang Local Government Areas.
Some of these items may remain of interest, even with the demise of the Palerang LGA and Pete's departure from the local government scene. Accordingly, information on this site will continue to remain available until it becomes evident that it is no longer relevant.
Pete retired from public office and did not stand for re-election at the 4 December 2021 Local Government elections.
