- To enable land to be used for public open space or recreational purposes.
- To provide a range of recreational settings and activities and compatible land uses.
- To protect and enhance the natural environment for recreational purposes.
To protect and enhance the environment generally, and to ensure that areas of high ecological, scientific, cultural or aesthetic values are protected, managed and restored.

Permitted with consent
Building identification sign; Business identification sign; Caravan parks; Community facilities; Environmental facilities; Environmental protection works; Flood mitigation works; Information and education facilities; Kiosks; Markets; Recreation areas; Recreation facilities (indoors); Recreation facilities (major); Recreation facilities (outdoors); Roads; Waste or resource transfer stations; Water recycling facilities.
Prohibited
Any development not specified in item 2 or 3.
RE2 Private Recreation
- Objectives of zone
- To enable land to be used for private open space or recreational purposes.
- To provide a range of recreational settings and activities and compatible land uses.
- To protect and enhance the natural environment for recreational purposes.
To protect and enhance the scenic and environmental resources of the land.
To ensure the scale and character of private recreational development is compatible with the established land uses of the locality.
Permitted without consent
Nil.
Permitted with consent
Building identification sign; Business identification sign; Caravan parks; Community facilities; Entertainment facilities; Environmental facilities; Environmental protection works; Flood mitigation works; Function centres; Registered clubs; Kiosks; Recreation areas; Recreation facilities (indoor); Recreation facilities (major); Recreation facilities (outdoor); Restaurants or cafes; shops; Take-away food and drink premises; Roads; Water recycling facilities.
