- Objectives of zone
- To encourage sustainable primary industry production by maintaining and enhancing the natural resource base.
- To maintain the rural landscape character of the land.
- To provide for a range of compatible land uses, including extensive agriculture.
To minimise conflict between land uses within the zone and land uses within adjoining zones.
To ensure that the development and management of the land has a neutral or beneficial impact on environmental assets including waterways, riparian land, wetlands and other surface and groundwater resources, soil fertility, remnant native vegetation, and fauna movement corridors.

- To provide for a range of land uses, services and facilities that are associated with a rural village.
To encourage design and development which enhance the streetscape and village character.
To integrate new and innovative development with the established settlement pattern, landscape and character within the village by encouraging:
- pedestrian, cycle and vehicular connections and accessibility
- the retention and enhancement of existing streetscape, and significant vegetation
- consistency with the scale, density and form of existing development.
Ensure that non-residential uses do not result in adverse impacts to the amenity of existing and future residential premises
